Art Bumgardner

 
    Art Bumgardner earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Texas, Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas.  He retired from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2003 after thirty-seven years of teaching voice, opera, and musical theater as well as theory and music appreciation. 

     Mr. Bumgardner is a veteran performer of recitals, oratorio, and opera, having performed such roles as Don Giovanni, Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), Schaunard (La Boheme), and Elijah.  He served as chorus master for the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra, and was the Director of Music at Pilgrim Congregational Church, Duluth, Minnesota for eighteen years.  He recently moved to Charleston where he is an adjunct faculty member in voice at the College of Charleston and serves as President of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
